Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are seen during our daytime hours for our clients, but please call us to let us know you are on your way.  There are times when we may not have a veterinarian in the building, so by calling ahead we can try to make arrangements to get one here in such a situation.

Emergency & Urgent Care

While we see our patients by appointment , we make every effort to work in those patients that need to be seen promptly during our office hours.  If an emergency occurs after hours, we will see non-life threatening emergencies for our existing clients when possible.  On occasion, we may refer you to the Animal Emergency Clinic of Rockford, where they may be better equipped to provide critical care for certain emergencies.

Types of Pets Seen

We care for many types of animals, such as the following:

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Rabbits
  • Pocket Pets
  • Horses and Farm Animals

Payments

Blackhawk Veterinary Service accepts payment via cash, check, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. So that we can continue to provide you high quality service utilizing the best medical technologies, we request that payment be made at the time services are rendered.

We provide estimates for all surgeries and hospitalizations. If you have not received an estimate, you are welcome to request one at any time for your expected charges.
